Suspension - Toe Links

Suspension - Toe Links

The Hot-Lap toe link rods are made from 6082-T6 grade aluminium, rifle-bored for strength and lightness, which are then hard anodised. They are available in silver anodised form or powder coated in black or orange. Each end of the link has a 14mm x 1.5 pitch thread inserted to take the ball jointed rod ends, for fine adjustment with a 19mm spanner profile over each end to ease tightening the lock nut securely. The rod end length adjustment is symmetrical at both ends.

The rod end bearing is of the highest quality, 14mm metric using a fine thread. They are precision high strength alloy steel, heat treated, protective coated for corrosion resistance and PTFE lined. The ball is chromium plated for durability.

Specially designed interlocking collets are used to locate the rod end bearing and the retaining bolts in such a manner as to reduce any shear forces acting on the bolts. These collets are also designed to prevent the rod-ends falling off the toe link in the event of the ball joint failure. All collets are manufactured in stainless steel. In the case of the S2 a tapered pin design is used to locate the rod end onto the steel upright.

This kit does not include the brackets offered by all our competitors since the design is sufficiently robust so as not to need these so called double shear enhancements.

Installation instructions and rubber protective boots for the rod ends are included in the kit.

For those with an S1 with aluminium hubs a kit will follow soon.
