Roll Cages

Hot-Lap started manufacturing roll cages in 2006 as a necessity in order to be able to compete in the first season of the LOT Elise Trophy, since cages were not available for the Lotus Elise 111R and S2 Exige at that time.

The design that evolved was more user friendly and safer than the cages used in other Lotus Elise models. At this time Hot-Lap pioneered a copyright design with a better access option by mounting the front part of the cage onto the scuttle beam instead of the door sill which restricted access to and from the car.

It wasn't long before Hot-Lap were approached to manufacture cages for other cars in the Lotus Elise/Exige family and now cages are available for the entire family of Lotus Elise/Exige cars: S1 Elise, S2 Elise (K Series - long & short roof), the Elise 111R and the S2 Exige. These have proved to be very popular and can now be found in many of the cars competing in the LOT Elise Trophy series, LOT member’s cars for track day use and in Elises/Exiges around the world.

Hot-Lap now also manufacture a 'Rally' roll cage for the S1 Elise - Type D below.

Cages are also available for the Ferrari 288, 308, 328, 355, 360 and the 430 models. More design and development is continuing on other manufacturers and will be announced as they become available.

This is a fully welded in cage incorporating chassis, engine, gearbox and suspension mounting points.
