Jenson Button's win for BrawnGP in the Melbourne Grand Prix saw Willans celebrating their 250th F1 Grand Prix Win. Jenson joins 19 World Champions and many other Formula 1 drivers to have used a Willans harness to win a Grand Prix. Willans harnesses have been used to win more Grand Prix than any other brand (and probably more than all the others put together).

Hot-Lap show the new Tillett B6 Carbon Seat at the Autosport International Show

The new B6 is a narrow seat suited to many kit and track day cars including the Lotus Elise and its derivatives. Its driving angle is based on our popular Caterham R500 seat but it has some important differences. The headrest has been moved back to prevent the drivers head from being pushed forward when using a crash helmet and the shoulder belt holes have been designed to allow the use of a Hans device. The hip holes have also been enlarged to help easier access for wider lap belts.

Tillett release the New B5 Carbon Seat for Lotus Elise/Exige

The B5 Carbon Composite racing seat is specifically designed for the Lotus Elise and Exige. The seat is manufactured by Tillett Racing Seats in the UK who is renowned as the leading edge manufacturer of performance racing car and kart seats.

The design is sculptured to hold the driver in a semi-upright position due to the limited space available but retains the driver in a low and comfortable racing position. The low driving attitude lowers the centre of gravity of the driver and further reduces the risk of collision between the driver's crash helmet and the roll cage, which benefits taller drivers. Most other manufacturers concentrate only on shoulder support that tends to restrict the driver’s ability to steer the car whereas this design provides excellent support around the hips and has efficient rib side support that is more effective. The seat moulding is optimised to be Hans compatible and has the facility for the use of a crutch strap. No seat padding is needed with this sculptured seat.

The seat is made of Carbon/FRP and weighs from only 4Kg without padding. The seat is light yet rigid due to its twin skin construction pioneered by Tillett during the manufacture of its Caterham seat. This ground breaking innovation has now been followed by other manufacturers. The seat is side mounted only with compatible mounting rails but optional sliding rails are available for the trackday/road user. The seat is available only in black and is supplied with a Alcantara headrest pad as standard but other trim options are available at extra cost should the driver decide to add more comfort especially for combined road and track use.
