HANS Device

The HANS Device was designed and developed in the 1980s by Dr. Robert Hubbard and Jim Downing. The

HANS devices that are offered by Hot-Lap are manufactured under licence by Stand 21, one of the only two companies

licenced to manufacture and distribute the HANS® System worldwide. Stand 21 is the only manufacturer to have

developed new models with made-to-measure installation and constant optimum improvements. The HANS Device is

the only Head and Neck Safety device approved by the FIA.

The HANS devices shown here are the most popular models and suitable for Saloon, Sports / GT cars.

The Model 20 is the most suitable fitting for the Lotus Elise / Exige.

HANS Devices

The HANS Racing model is new for 2009. This is available in the 20 degree version which is ideal for rallying and saloon cars.

These models are made from structural carbon fibre and are slightly heavier than the Hi-Tec carbon fibre models (805g compared to 610g) but are more economical in price.

These models feature the new sliding tether as standard helping the driver to turn his/her head whilst strapped into the car. The new model also has been designed to offer one size catering for the Medium and Large drivers.

The HANS Sport Device is new for 2008. It is has been introduced as a value option making safety more affordable but with the same performance as every HANS Device. It is made from Injection molded super structural carbon fiber and weighs just over 1kg, which is a weight gain of around 400g on the HiTec model.

It is offered in the Model 20 specification for upright seating applications which fits most racers in most cars. It is available in size medium only.

The Sport comes with sliding tethers as standard.

The HANS HiTec device is the most popular design and weighs 610g fully equipped with padding and tethers. It is manufactured using Hi Modulas carbon fibre.

It is available in 7 different sizes covering a wide range of inclines and neck sizes - see Model & Size Availability table below.
