Lightweight Carbon/FRP Racing Seat specifically designed for the Lotus Elise and Exige

The design is sculptured to hold the driver in a semi-upright position due to the limited space available but retains the driver in a low and comfortable racing position. The low driving attitude lowers the centre of gravity of the driver and further reduces the
risk of collision between the driver's crash helmet and the roll cage, which benefits taller drivers. Most other manufacturers concentrate only on shoulder support that tends to restrict the driver’s ability to steer the car whereas this design provides excellent support around the hips and has efficient rib side support that is more effective. The seat moulding is optimised to be Hans compatible and has the facility for the use of a crutch strap. No seat padding is needed with this sculptured seat.

The seat is made of Carbon/FRP and weighs from 5.7Kg without padding to 6.7Kg with padding. It is light yet rigid due to its twin skin construction pioneered by Tillett during the manufacture of its Caterham seat. This ground breaking innovation has now been followed by other manufacturers. The seat is side mounted only with compatible mounting rails but optional sliding rails are available for the trackday/road user. The seat is available only in black and is supplied with a Alcantara headrest pad as standard but other trim options are available at extra cost should the driver decide to add more comfort especially for combined road and track use.
